Description

Another influence meme for my main OCs.

This time, it's for the Mexican Revolutionary Avenger Ernesto Oliverius De Santis "The Masked Revolutionary Avenger".

These are his main influences:
-V (V For Vendetta): I'm starting with one of my most favourite dystopian stories ever. This story created by Alan Moore, for graphic novel, which even had a great film adaptation in 2006 (Directed by James McTiege, written by the Wachowski Brothers (the same guys who made Matrix); and starring Natalie Portman, John Hurt, and Hugo Weaving in the main role). Little is unknown about DeSantis' past, but the fact he lost his wife in aterrorist attack, which was supported by the evil government of Mexico (which were spies of the Imperial Party S.H.O.C.K.E.R.). So, he decides to turn in a Masked Vigilante in order to overthrow an evil corrupt and authoritarian dictatorship in Mexico. He also murdered to some government officials, and he plans stop this evil government in an "emblematic" day for the Mexicans: November the 20th (the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution).

-Britt Reid/The Green Hornet: When I created DeSantis-san, I decided to create him as a vigilante. Anothe rof his main influences is this hero, who appeared in 1966. DeSantis is a vigilante who fights for the justice; however, he pretends to be a criminal in order to inflitrate in criminal gangs, and stop them. Also, aside the support of Matsumaru-kun and his friends, he's supported by a mysterious lady (who can be like a female counterpart of Kato XD). Also, the clothings of Green Hornet (especially the mask), were influenced for DeSantis' design. Honestly, the 2011 film wasn't too bad...

-Terminator T-800 (Terminator 2: Judgment Day): One of my most favourite sci-fi/dystopian film sagas ever, is the masterpiece of James Cameron, Terminator. This stories, which, more beyond the fact that the robots are the villains, invites to us to reflexionate about their mission, and if truthly the humankind deserves own the planet Earth. The first installment (1984) was a masterpiece in the genre of sci-fi/horror; however, with the sequel, the things were much than better; it was an absolute masterpiece (and was the best work starring Arnold Schwarzenegger)!!! Well, the main hero from this movie (who was previously a villain), is another influence for DeSantis. DeSantis is a man who's very logical; however, at the ebginning, he had a limited capacity for human emotion and learning. However, he'll understand better the human emotions. Also, the relationship between DeSantis and Matsumaru-kun is somewhat similar to the relationship between the T-800 and John Connor (DeSantis=T-800; Matsumaru=John), due to the North-Korean boy sees the Mexican hero as a father. So, also, DeSantis can make everything for protect him, no matter the circumstances.

-Tatsuo Kagura/Skull Man (Skull Man): My most favourite anime artist, Shotaro Ishinomori, was distinctive, not only by his extraordinary heroes, or the contrasts between characters designs in anime/manga; he also added, sometimes, to his stories, suspense, making his stories also somewhat creepy, due to being also thrillers. Here's one of his most famous works: Skull Man. This hero was another influence for DeSantis-san. He was captured by an evil terrorist cartel known as The Death Syndicate (which were supported by the government), and he was forced to undergo a surgically operation, turning him in a cyborg soldier. However, knowing that they're allied with the Government of the Party Black Satan (the evil politician party which governates Mexico in a sinister future), he escaped, and vowed revenge. In order to get near to the Government which even killed his wife, he commited some murders against Deputies, and other officials of the Government, making him a target of the Secret Police. Also, DeSantis can fight using firearms, and he can also communicate telepathically with his allies. He can also use telekinesis, pyrokinesis, and hypnosis, which he uses to take advantage over others and find their weaknesses.. He's also a carefree man, who could be somewhat ruthless, cunning, and willing to sacrifice "innocent" lives in his quest for vengeance. As an additional data, Skull Man acquired a clut status among Ishinomori fans, and, he was also the basis for one of Ishinomori's most popular heroes: Kamen Rider. (One of some unused Early Conceptual Arts for Kamen Rider #1 ressembles Skull Man ( vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/k… ); also, Skull Man was the inspiration for Kamen Rider Skull from Kamen Rider W. Also, if Skull Man could be considerated as a Kamen Rider, he could be Kamen Rider #0 (despite he wasn't created by Shocker (the archenemies of Kamen Riders #1 and #2)))

-Kotaro Minami/Kamen Rider Black RX: Now we're talking about Kamen Rider, I want to tell you that the influence of this saga can't be forgotten. I was influencied by my most favourite Showa Rider: Black RX. Kamen Rider Black was an excellent series, that also had a sequel, which, altought it seems like a lie, this was more awesome than never. As I said you previously, DeSantis was surgically altered; however, after he tried to escape, he was hurt by bullets, and dropped to the streets of Federal City (a dystopian version of Mexico City), where he was revived by the light of the sun. Now, he's decided to fight against the Death Syndicate, and the Party Black Satan (which was actually the Mexican branch of the Imperial Party S.H.O.C.K.E.R.). He's also an emotional man which has served both good and bad for him. After he lost his wife, he tried very hard to get his wife back. He's also a trendy person who is into the latest stuff; however, he has also a rough side, and isn't too adept with plants. Also, DeSantis is an expert swordsman, due to he practices fencing; so, his combat style with his sword (the Volcanizer Saber), is inspired by Black RX's fighting style with the Revolcane. Also, his encounter with the Rebels who preceded him, is inspired by the episodes where Kotaro met with his predecessors Riders (1, 2, V3, RiderMan, X, Amazon, Stronger, SkyRider, Super-1, and ZX); however, here, he was a rival of Matsumaru-kun in a beginning, due to he was somewhat unsure if the Youth People could change the World; however, he changed of mind after the North-Korean Boy saved him, and he also remembered that the youth people are the only ones who can think, and change the World, due to they study very much (a reason which made them being murdered, saddly...).

-Doogie Kruger/DekaMaster (Tokusou Sentai DekaRanger): Super Sentai is also another of the masterpieces of Shotaro Ishinomori. For create DeSantis, another main influence of mine was the "Hell's Guard Dog": DekaMaster, one of the main heroes from one of my most favourite Sentai series ever. DeSantis is a tough leader and being honorable, he will do anything to save the ones he cares about. He's decided to risk anything for the sake of his allies. Also, as an additional data, DeSantis fighting style is inspired by DekaMaster's fighting style.

-Ryo/Android Hakaider (Mechanical Violator Hakaider): Hakaider was also created by Shotaro Ishinomori, as one of the main antagonists from the Jinzou Ningen Kikaider series. However, he got some fame thanks to a 1995 cult dystopian film directed by Keita Amemiya (who also worked in some Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Uchuu Keiji/Metal Hero installments), and it was also one of the last works by Ishinomori-san (before his saddly death in 1998). In general, my main influence from all the versions of Hakaider is the one from this film. DeSantis tries to fight against a ruthless tyrant who broke the balance between good and evil. He, after escaping, he didn't knew his purpose; however, thanks to the TLGR, he'll start to fight for the freedom of the humankind, decided to kill anybody who doesn't respects the lives of the helpless creatures.

-Diego De La Vega/Zorro (The Mask Of Zorro): Another masked hero who was also another influence for DeSantis-san. This hero created by Johnston McCulley, who probably went more famous thanks to Antonio Banderas (probably the most known version of this hero). DeSantis is an excellent swordsman, who's also a superb athlete, and an excellent tactician, who can also fight with unarmed combat style. He's also well-educated, wealthy, and cultured. Altought I inspired (obviously), by his version portrayed by Antonio Banderas, I had also some influence from the Colombian TV series "Zorro: La Espada Y La Rosa" (here, he was portrayed by Christian Meier).

-Bruce Wayne/Batman (The Dark Knight Trilogy): Batman is one of my most favourite american superheroes ever. As I said you in a beginning, DeSantis is a vigilante who also fights against a corrupt government, which also supported (sometimes), to the crime. Among the multiple Batman versions, I liked the original 1989 and 1992 films by Tim Burton, the animated series by Bruce Timm, and the ridiculous-but-funny Adam West's series, and even more, the Movie Trilogy by Christopher Nolan. Here, the saga was more serious, more darker, and more surrealistic, in contrast with his previous incarnations (including the "Meh" from Batman Forever (portrayed by Val Kilmer), and the horrible version of Batman & Robin (portrayed by George Clooney (Poor guy...Maybe he could forget this horrible remembers...)). Some of DeSantis' fights are influenced by Batman fights against some villains like Scarecrow, The Joker, Two-Face, and Bane. Also, due to his actions, the Mexican people is in doubts about if he's a hero, or a villain...Honestly, the portrayal of Christian Bale as Batman was so excellent and admirable, so, I have doubts taht Ben Affleck could be better...

-Ben Richards (The Running Man): Stephen King not only wrote horror/thriller stories like Carrie, The SHining, Christine, Cujo, Children Of The Corn, Pet Sematary, Misery, The Shawshank Redemption, or The Green Mile (which was also a drama). He aslo wrote some sci-fi and/or dystopian stories like The Long Walk (which could be the influence for The Hunger Games or Battle Royale), The Lawnmower, or this story, which was written under the nickname of Richard Bachman. Before we meet Katniss Everdreen shooting arrows for survive in Panem (The Hunger Games), or we meet Shuya Nanahara trying to protect Noriko Nakagawa and escaping from a sinister massacre between students in a sinister Japanese dystopia (Battle Royale), or watching some families trying to escape from several crminal groups among 12 hours (in The Purge), we met another survival games stories, where a hero tried to survive a sinister future; they were Rollerball (1975), Death Race 2000 (1975; remade in 2008), and this story, which had a film adaptation in 1987 (the year when we meet Paul Verhoeven's RoboCop, and Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket) directed by Paul Michael Glaser, and starring Maria Conchita Alonso (a latin female singer), Richard Dawson, and Arnold Shwarzenegger in the main role (and one of his best works ever). This hero was another main influence for DeSantis. In order to try to overthrow the evil regime of the Party Black Satan, he also had to enter in a sinsiter survival game, created by the government, alongside an evil television corporation which destroyed the intellect of the people, with some shit like "a retarded poor kid who lives in a barrel", or "a bunch of asshole students whose like bullying between themselves", or "a blasphemous soap-opera which told several shit about some nice things", or "an old geezer who dresses as a kid who likes to cheat to the participants of a familiar contest", or "an asshole contest where some children are forced to sing", or "an old gossip bitch who only meddles in matters that aren't of her importance" (now I'm mentioning this, try to guess what I am criticizing, and at the same time mocking about (the company and the programs)). So, in this horrible show (known as DeathWatch), he had to fight against several assassins, whose served to the government. Here, he was murdering to every assassin, in order to get near the government, and also, he joined forces with Matsumaru-kun and his friends, who made a Resistance against Black Satan/Imperial Party S.H.O.C.K.E.R. in Mexico, revelating also to the people the truth about the government. The only difference is that DeSantis mustn't wear a ridiculous jumpsuit like the one which Schwarzenegger wears in the film XD.

-Looker (Pokémon): Not only for design my human OCs, I have influences from Pokémon main heroes. I can have also influence of some Non-Playable Characters. For design DeSantis' hairstyle and clothings, I was influenced by this hero, who was detective and Supreme Commander of the International Police. Also, before turning in a Revolutionary, DeSantis was a Police Officer.

-Winston Smith (1984): The masterpiece of George Orwell was maybe, a great influence for some of the dystopian stories I liked ever (like RoboCop, A Clockwork Orange, Battle Royale, etc.). And also, for create my stories, is also an excellent influence. DeSantis formerly worked for the Secret Police which also distortioned the history in this horrible dictatorship mexican state. However, he started to doubt about the government, a motivation which made him try to overthrow the evil government of the Black Satan Party. I influenced more by the film version in 1984, where he was portrayed by John Hurt. The only difference is that he wasn't captured nor tortured by the Secret Police XD.
